They had a great win in the quarter final against Cullyhanna and we wish them continued success on Sunday.
Team Manager: St Patrick’s Arva GAA are delighted to have the services of Brian Doyle, Gortermone, Carrigallen as team manager for the coming year. Brian was a top class player with his own club Carrigallen over a long career and also starred for the Leitrim county team for many years. Brian has retained the outgoing management team of Philip Galligan, Enda Boylan, Philip Brady with Brían Cully and Lisa Mulligan also involved. On behalf of the club we wish Brian every success in 2015 where we compete in Division 1A of the League and the Intermediate Championship. This will be a big step up for Arva but with this management team in place they should be well able to hold their status and who knows if the draws are favourable anything is possible. They played a challenge game in Mohill on Sunday last where a number of new young players made their debut and were well able to compete.
Cavan travelled to the Athletic Grounds, Armagh to play Tyrone in the Dr McKenna Cup Final on Saturday evening last but after a great first half they failed to score in the second half and were defeated. Arva supporters were delighted to see James Morris coming on in the second half and give a good display. It’s on to the Allianz National Football League this Sunday when they play Roscommon in St Brigid’s GAA Club Grounds, Kiltoom. (Take the Roscommon Road out of Athlone or the Knockcroghery Road before Roscommon). This will be a very tough encounter for Cavan and they will need all the support possible to get behind them and cheer them on.
