Golf Society

Hit & Miss Golf society Captain Day was held in the wonderful Slieve Russell Golf Club. A total of 18 members attended and the course was in pristine condition as usual. The scoring on the day was high with Thomas McKeon coming out the winner with 38pts on a count back. Thomas achieve the double as Captain prize winner and Golfer of the year for 2015. Gerry Donohue was second on 38 pts. John Carragher was third with 37 pts. Our Captain Joe organised a great day and also presented us with great prizes. We all retreated to the Breffni Hotel, Arva for a lovely meal and we thank Eamonn Gray and his staff for looking after us so well. Well done Joe Mulligan on your year as Captain and the best of good luck to Michael Francis McKeon in 2016.

Benefit Dance

A Benefit Dance for the family of the late Sean Mulligan, Ballinamuck will take place in the Breffni Arms Hotel, Arva on Monday 16th November 2015. Tickets will also be on sale in Aughnacliffe Post Office.

A very important meeting will be held in the community centre, Aughnacliffe on Friday, 30th October at 8.30pm with a view to enlisting more volunteers to provide cover at both Churches in the parish for funerals and other events that take place in our Churches. At the moment this work is been done by a small group of volunteers who give generously of their time whenever called upon but their is a need for a much bigger panel of people, especially from the Purth end of the parish to help out with stewarding both in and outside the Church at removals and funerals. If you would like to help out please come along to the meeting on Friday 30th.
