Killoe Minor Club

The Killoe Minor Club GAA are holding their AGM on Friday, 28 November 2014 in St Theresa’s National School, Clontumpher, Killoe. All members /parents are requested to attend on the night and those who would like to help at committee level are very welcome.


The annual regional mass for deceased members of the Pioneers Association will be held in St Mary’s Church, Newtownforbes, Co Longford on Friday, 21 November 2014 at 7pm. Refreshments will be served in the hall after mass.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Jude Flynn and families, Longford, Peggy Carrig and families, UK on the sad bereavement of their dear brother, Rev Thomas (Tom ) Flynn, Granard, Co Longford and former parish priest Killoe, who was laid to rest last week. Requiem mass was celebrated in St Mary’s Church, Granard with burial afterwards in Gortlettera Co Leitrim cemetery. The parishioners of Killoe express condolence to his brother Jude, sister Peggy, brother/sisters in law, nephews/ nieces extended families friends neighbours, Bishop Duffy, Bishop of Ardagh and Clonmacnois, Ministry colleagues. Fr Tom celebrated 50 years in the priesthood in June 2013 and he had a capacity for greatness and the ability to provide a meaningful role in his profession with great passion and love for As Gaeilige. May you rest peacefully Fr Tom.

Killoe old graveyard

Booklets titled “resting in peace in old Killoe” are now available, cost 5 euro each. Booklets include a map showing location of headstones and tombstones including listed names. Booklets available at Hughes’s shop Ennybegs or any committee members Tel 043 3323191/ 087 9268585.

Church notes

St Marys Ennybegs, Masses Wednesday/ Thursday 10am, Friday 10am Saturday 8pm. Community Games

Draughts:- Registration for all interested in taking part in Draughts will be on Monday next, the 24th. November, 2014 at 7pm in Cullyfad Community Centre. Age categories are as follows:- Boys & Girls - Under 10 must be over 7 years; U12 must be over 10 years, U14 must be over 12 years. There is an additional age category this year for U16 Mixed Boys & Girls who must be over 14 years.
