’98 Hall Committee: The above will meet on Thursday 20th November at 8.00pm. All members please attend. Christmas Party: Will meet on Wednesday, 26th November at 8pm. The Ballinamuck Senior Citizens Christmas party will take place on the 7th of December 2014 from 2.30 until 6.30pm. All members of the community are invited to attend after 5pm. Collection: The annual church gate collection for the Ballinamuck Senior Citizens Christmas part will take place on Sunday the 30th of November. Please give generously.

Strictly Come Dancing

Preparations are well under way as Gaels Utd FC host the very popular “Strictly Come Dancing” as part of its fundraising drive. The big night takes place on Saturday night December 27th at Drumlish Community Centre and our couples have been working very hard learning their steps and moves for your entertainment !! There will be a particularly festive feel to the night including a full bar and it promises to be one of the big local highlights over the Christmas period. Tickets will be on sale very shortly and your support would be greatly welcomed. A draw (including a Samsung TV worth €1200) will take place on the night. Information evening

The six week cookery programme is now in its fifth week, with Dietitian Ciara Cunningham attending at the next session. This has been a fantastic success. Following on from this, other ideas have emerged with arts & crafts commencing shortly along with basic first aid course. A flower arranging evening with Mulled Wine reception will take place on December 17th. (Date for your Diary), keep in touch and bring a friend, come for a chat. This is the start of many fantastic activities. An information evening and free class of the benefits of Exercising in the Chair. For all ages, Arthritis, Exercise in the Home, or in the Office, took place in the Village Inn, Drumlish, Thursday 13th November. Classes start 20th November at 6.30pm for 4 weeks. The 4-week Breathe, Stretch and relax Course starts Thursday, 20th November at 7.30pm. For More information Contact 087-7204020.

Car boot

Drumlish Village & Area Enhancemennt are gathering for their next Car Boot Sale and would welcome any toys, teddies or re-cycle seasonal items that you no longer have use for. One person’s waste could be treasure for another - contact Dympna at 087 397 7799.


Yoga classes continue every Thursday night in The Village Inn, Drumlish at 7.30pm. 3 weeks left in the course. New course starting 20th November. Contact 087-2868254.


Badminton in the Community Centre, Drumlish every Thursday night at 9pm. New and previous members welcome.


Ballinamuck Bingo continues every Tuesday at 8.30pm, prizefund on the night €1,300. Fun for all ages.

Mock Wedding
Drumlish Cemetery Limited is presenting a Mock Wedding on Friday, December 12th in the Community Centre followed by a Wedding Reception Party in The Porter House.  Rehearsals and preparations are now in full swing with a fantastic local cast, for what promises to be a great night of comedy and entertainment.  The show will be opened by the children of St Mary’s NS and will be closed with a couple of numbers from our local chorus line. This will definitely be a night not to be missed, so put the date in your diary now. We are also holding a launch night in The Porter House on Friday November 28th, more details next week. Further details will be available in the coming weeks.

Twinning table quiz
A table quiz will be held in Dillon’s bar and Bistro on Friday 21st of November at 9pm .All money raised will go directly to the travelling expenses for those children from the parish who will participate in the 2015 programme in Essert France .Please support this very worthwhile fundraiser .For further details contact Paddy Howe on 087-9613312

Please note that the local notes must be with the local correspondent by 6.00pm on Sunday evening to ensure publication in the following week’s notes. Please email the notes to bradyelizabeth7@gmail.com. On Bank Holiday weekends the notes must reach the correspondent by Friday evening at 6.00pm to ensure publication as Leader staff work over these weekends and must be facilitated. The local correspondent also needs to organise his/her schedule so please co-operate with these deadlines. The above will apply throughout the year. If the notes are not received by the times mentioned the correspondent cannot guarantee the publication of same.

The Senior Citizens Committee

The senior citizens committee would like to thank all those who supported the fundraiser in the Olde Village Inn. Thanks to Tom for the use of the premises and supplying the Band. We would also like to thank Catherine and John in Loughery’s pharmacy for their fundraiser at Halloween and donating the money to the senior citizens group.
