Traditional Irish dancing classes every Monday at 5pm in Cullyfad Community Centre and each Saturday in Ennybegs Community Centre, Killoe from 10.30am under tuition of Marian Kiernan ADCRW. All levels and ages catered for. Newcomers very welcome. Enquiries to Marian, Tel 086 8478209.


Commencing in the Thomas Ashe Hall, Ballinalee, a six week yoga course on Tuesday, 23rd September 2014 at 8.30pm. Enrolment 15 minutes before first class commences. Cost 70 euro. Further information contact Maureen Bracken Tel 043 3323196.


Celebrations of National Grandparents Day will be held at Our Lady’s Shrine Knock on Sunday, 14 September 2014. Chief celebrant archbishop Charles Brown, guest singer, Fr Liam Lawton and choirs. Anointing of sick at 2.30pm. Everyone is very welcome to a day of faith and healing.


It is with sad regret that the parish extend sincere condolence to Kathleen Reynolds and families, Dublin, (formerly Longford), Reynolds families Longford on the bereavement of our ex-Taoiseach Albert Reynolds who was definitely a people’s person and highly respected in the Killoe area plus retaining a loyal mutual friendship with our local Fianna Fail politician, Mickie Doherty RIP. Expressed sympathy to his wife Kathleen, sons Albert, Philip, daughters Miriam, Leonie, Cathy Andrea Emer, sister Theresa, brother Jim, sons/ daughters in law, grandchildren extended families, friends. Months memory mass for Albert will be celebrated in St Mel’s College Chapel on Saturday, 20 September at 12 o’clock. May he rest peacefully. The parish also express sincere condolence to our Bishop Francis Duffy and families on the sad bereavement of their mother, Mary C (Cissie) Duffy, (nee Dolan), Bawnboy, Co Cavan who was laid to rest last week. May she rest in peace.


Congratulations to Aine Brady, daughter of Tom and Nancy, Boher, Killoe who exchange nuptial vows with Sean Meenahan, Longford in St Mary’s Church, Ennybegs, Killoe. Also congrats to Breda Casey, daughters of Bernard and Breege, Ohill, Killoe who exchanged nuptial vows with Robert Ryland, Banagher in Multyfarnham Abbey. Also congrats to Linda Connell, daughter of Tom and Margaret, Soran, Killoe who exchanged nuptial vows with Jason Keogh, Longford in St Mary’s Church, Edgeworthstown. Also congrats to Catherine Bohan, daughter of Jim and Patricia, Cullyfad, Killoe who exchanged nuptial vows with Owen Blackburn, Dublin in St Oliver’s Church, Cullyfad, Killoe. The parish extend a big congrats to all the happy couples and their families for a great future filled with good health and happiness.
