Football Fare
The Leitrim minors put up a brave fight on Saturday evening last in Hyde Park and matched Roscommon until the last few minutes of the games when it drifted from their grasp. In a high quality Connacht championship the Leitrim lads played very well for long stages and were very competitive which augers well for the future of Leitrim football. We commend David Mulvey, Jack Heslin, their teammates and the management team on the great effort they put in all year. They have the satisfaction of winning the Connacht league, which is a rare enough achievement for Leitrim.
The Leitrim senior championship is expected to resume this weekend. Gortletteragh are due to play Annaduff and we wish them all the best.
