Loch Gowna / Upper Erne Anglers AGM will take place on Friday, 21st February in the Pikers Lodge Hotel at 9pm. New members welcome.


Congratulations are extended to Sean Leddy, son of Paschal Leddy and grandson of Mary Leddy, Loch Gowna on achieving soccer player of the year. He is still involved with the Norwich soccer club and has been picked for the Irish academy soccer in July. Wishing him the very best of luck.

Deepest sympathy is extended to Mrs Ena Fox, (nee O’Reilly, formerly of Loch Gowna village) Corrick, Aughamore, Co Leitrim on the death of her husband Paddy which occurred on Wednesday, 5th February at his residence. Also sympathy to his sons Donal, Calum, daughters Noelin, Eithna and Eimear. His remains were removed from his residence on Friday to St Mary’s Church, Annaduff and following funeral Mass on Saturday at 12 noon burial took place in the adjoining cemetery. May he rest in peace.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and friends of the late Michael Lynch, Cloncovid, Kilcogy who passed away on Monday, 3rd February. His remains were removed from his residence on Tuesday morning to Our Lady of Lourdes Church Mullahoran and following 11am mass burial took place in adjoining cemetery. May he rest in peace.

Fishing competition

Lough Gowna/ Upper Erne Anglers will host the Edward Shiels Memorial Pike Fishing competition (Boat) on Sunday, 16th February on Derries Lake. Fishing from 11am to 4pm. For more information contact Ciaran Lee on 086 8579156. Membership due on this day 10 euro.

Also sympathy to his wife Mary, sons James and John, sister Anna, sister in law, brother in law, nephews and nieces. Cremation of his remains took place on Wednesday 12th February in London. May he rest in peace.
