Well Done

To the Carrickedmond ladies under 12 football team who reached the final of the under 12 “A” championship recently. The girls played Clongluish in the final, however, on the evening came up against a stronger team and were beaten. This was a great achievement for this young team to reach the “A” final and no doubt this bunch of girls will have glory days ahead. Well done to also to their trainers, Keith Mc Guire, Michelle Mulvey and Joe Breslin. Following the final, the girls were treated to refreshments in the parish hall.

The Carrickedmond parish council will hold their next meeting in the parish house Carrickedmond on Monday night, the 30th June at 8pm. All members are asked to attend.

Is extended to Chris Byrne and family, Abbeyshrule, on the death of Chris’s brother, Seamus O’Brien recently. May his soul rest in peace.

Summer Weather

The parish has been a hive of activity over the past week. The local bogs are busy from early morning to late at night and it is great that everyone is finding it much easier than previous years to foot the turf. The local farmers are busy making silage and hay and in general every person is happy and enjoying the lovely summer days. Everyone is reminded to always think safety at this time of year especially when working near farm machinery, while driving and especially while swimming or near water. Hopefully, the summer spell continues into the coming weeks.
