Commemoration
The Clonfin commemoration ceremonies will commence with Mass in St Mary’s Church, Granard at 11.30am on Sunday, February 2, 2014 with site visitation at 3pm. Guest speaker Bishop Colm O’Reilly. Refreshments will be served afterwards in McElvaney’s pub Coolarty . This year’s commemoration will be held on the exact date of the famous battle at Clonfin. Everyone is very welcome to attend.
Yoga
A six week course in Yoga will commence in the Thomas Ashe Hall, Ballinalee on Wednesday, 29 January from 8-9.30pm. Further details contact Maureen Bracken M.I.H.C.A. Tel 043 3323196.
Alpha course
A ten week course for 2014 commences in the Family Centre, St Mels Road, Longford on February 6 at 8pm. Admission is free. Donations if desired. Further details contact Fr Tony Gilhooly 043 3346465/ Sr Angela Clarkson 087 2843034.
GAA
The Emmet Og GAA annual dinner dance was a resounding vibrant night with plenty of good food, music to send the feet a flapping not forgetting the honorary accolades to all deserving players and mentors. Junior player of the year awarded to John Conlon. Senior Player award to Shane Dowd. Clubman of the Year awarded to Danny Keogh. Hall of Fame awarded to Brendan Bracken Snr. Senior and Junior teams plus ladies teams all medal recipients. Guest appearances, county board members Brid McGoldrick and Gerry Hagan who bestowed the various presentations on the night. The parish extend congratulations to everyone on this momentous occasion and wish all teams and mentors good luck for 2014.
Get well
The parish extend good wishes to Frank Kiernan, Kiltyreher who recently had his hip operation with a temporary stop to all football activities now Frank. Also all parishioners in hospital or unwell at home. We wish a speedy recovery for everyone.

Sunday: Noel Devaney/ Brendan Bracken. This week celebrates Catholic School week theme being Catholic School “Places of Faith and Learning”. St Olivers Cullyfad Mass Sunday 9.30am (Sean Duignan, Nenagh, Co Tipperary, formerly Clonee, Killoe RIP) . Parishioners who wish to volunteer for ministry of Eucharist (over 16 years male/female) requested to hand names to Fr Sean after any weekend masses or the presbytery.
