The annual Clonfin Commemoration will take place on Sunday next, February 2nd commencing with mass in St Mary’s Granard at 11.30am. The ceremony will begin at 3pm at the site where retired Bishop of Ardagh and Clonmacnois Colm O’Reilly will be the guest speaker. Refreshments will follow in McElvaney’s in Coolarty. As the commemoration falls on the exact date of the famous ambush the organising committee are looking forward to a large attendance.
The Sean Connolly’s GAA Club AGM takes place this Friday night at 8pm in the clubhouse. All members are asked to attend. New members are welcome to attend meeting.
Tickets are on sale locally for the GAA National draw for 10 euro. All proceeds go towards the local club to cover insurance for all players from early years to adult which costs the club over 4,000 euro per year.
