Whist Drive
A Whist Drive takes place in the Community Centre this Friday night 13th September at 8.45.
Classes
Classes will resume in the Community Centre on Tuesday 17th Sept. Beginners welcome at 4.30 & 6.30. Fees for classes are 4.50 euro per child, family rates of 10 euro. Monthly fees are 15 euro per child or 35 euro per family. Contact Maureen on 086 3702719 for further information.

Cross Country
Longford National Schools Cross Country race open to every child who attends national school in County Longford. 3rd & 4th classes to run 800M, 5th & 6th classes to run 1000M. Saturday 21 September at Moyne, registration at 4pm, entry €2 per child. Training for all interested students from St. Mel’s NS continues twice this week.
Coffee morning
Hospice Coffee Morning will be held on Thursday 19 September at the Ardagh Heritage Centre from 9:30 am- 12 noon. Everyone in the parish welcome to stop in for a cup of tea and scones. All donations most appreciated for this worthy cause- Longford Hospice and Homecare service.
TY Students
AMG Community Games Youth Club is looking for TY Students to help at our Friday evening club for this year. If any secondary school student is interested contact Leslie Finnan, Michael Hayden or Eamon O’Kane.
Community Games
AMG Community Games held their Annual General Meeting last week and elected a new committee for the coming year: Michael Hayden, Chairperson, Eamon O’Kane, Secretary\Treasurer, Leslie Finnan, PRO, Tom Whyte, Games Director, Paddy McPhillips, Children’s Officer and Sinead Gallagher, Recruitment\Development Officer. Thanks to last year’s committee for all the time and effort they gave to providing opportunities for all the children in the parish especially Kelly & Barry Callan, Noelle Gillen, Janice O’Kane, Brigette Lynch Scott, Martin Smyth, Anthony Thompson & David Shannon. If any parent was unable to attend and would like to get involved or needs further information please do not hesitate to get in touch with Leslie Finnan (087-7960476) or any committee member at any time. Planning has already begun for the start-up of our weekly Youth Club details to be announced soon. Co. Longford Community Games AGM: Ardagh\Moydow\Glen hosted the AGM for the County Community Games and gave a warm welcome to all that attended. Many thanks to Bernie Whyte, Noelle Gillen and Brigette Lynch Scott for serving the refreshments. There was a delicious assortment of sandwiches & desserts prepared, thanks to Janice O’Kane, Sinead Gallagher and Sharon Thompson. Wishing Eamon O’Kane & Paddy McPhillips success in their roles on the County Longford Community Games Committee for the coming year. AMG will have excellent representation at the top table!
Toddler group
The Toddler Group resumes in Ardagh Community Centre next Tuesday morning, 10th September, between 10 and 12 - drop in anytime during the two hours for a cuppa and a chat. Mums, dads, minders, grannies and grandads are welcome to call in, as are all children from new borns to pre-schoolers - there are no age limits.
