Ballyfeeney Parents Association Sponsored Cycle: A group of cyclists from the Scramogue/Kilglass area are cycling from Galway to Scramogue which is a distance of 105 kilometres in aid of Ballyfeeney National School. Sponsorship cards are around the area so maybe you have a few euro to contribute to this cause. There will be a get together in Leavy’s that night to welcome the boys home. Live music and lots of craic.
Lourdes Invalid Fund Social: A social in support of Lourdes Invalid Elphin Diocesan Fund will take place on Saturday 21st July. Live music on the night. Admission is optional and there will be a raffle on the night.
Scramogue Cemetery Sunday: Scramogue Cemetery Sunday takes place on Sunday 29th of July with Mass at 11.30am in the graveyard. Please make sure your family grave space is tidied up for the occasion. It must be said that the Cemetery is looking very neat and clean presently. Make sure you are prepared for the weather in case it rains!
Roscommon Careers Association: Roscommon Careers Association is having a special event in Kilbride Community Centre on Tuesday 24th July. Mass, refreshments and entertainment on the day. Donation €5.
Knock Youth Festival: Knock Youth Festival will take place on Saturday, 28th July from 12 noon to 6pm. Talks, workshop, music, prayer and reflection included. If you are between 17 and 25 years of age this is for you.
Congrats Ciaran: Congratulations to Ciaran Casserly and the Roscommon minor footballers on a magnificent victory in the Connacht minor football final at Hyde Park last Sunday. History was made as it is the first time that Roscommon minors have achieved back to back Connacht titles. Continued success lads and well done.
Civic Reception: A recent Civic reception at Roscommon Co Council honoured the Tarmonbarry Macra na Feirme Soccer Team which won the five a side.
Athletics: Each Saturday morning at 11.30am. We are asking more people to become involved in the club.
Foroige Club in Rooskey: Foroige club in Rooskey at the Community Centre each Wednesday between 7.30pm and 9pm.
Tidy Towns: Keep focused on keeping the village and its environs clean and tidy at this time. Remember its not all about getting top marks, and while its nice to get up to the top of the pile in relation to tidiness and neatness there is an onus on all of us to keep our area clean and tidy at all times. The new signage in the environs of the village looks very well, and has come from funds received from the Roscommon Integrated Development Company.
Rooskey Community Centre: Walking Club continues every Sunday from 2.30pm from Rooskey Old School.
Buttercups Playschool: Buttercups are now taking bookings for September. Contact Olive or Mary at (043) 3359767 or visit during open hours. Places are available for free Pre-school ECCE Scheme and CCS Scheme. Parent and Toddler Group meet every Tuesday in Pre School between 10am to 1pm.

WEEE Ireland Collection: The company is holding an electrical item and battery collection at the Rooskey Community Centre Car Park on Thursday 26th July from 10am to 1pm. Any household item with plug or battery will be collected.You are not to leave anything in car park prior to Thursday 26th July. There will now also be a collection at St.Barry’s Centre from 2pm to 5pm on the same day.
Clondra Cemetery Sunday: Clondra Cemetery Sunday takes place on the 12th August commencing with prayers and Blessing of graves at 7.30pm. Mass at 8pm. Collection outside Whitehall Church on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th August to help with the upkeep of the graveyard.
