This week, ‘The Mad Hatter Workshop’ in association with Wendy Louise Knight will be held at Granard Library. The event which takes place from 10am-12:30pm on May 8, will provide all those in attendance with an opportunity to create a wonderful new millinery design and is being run in conjunction with Lus na Greine Family Resource Centre in Granard.

On May 9, the ‘Get your Grove’ will begin in the Mall Complex, Longford town at 11am. This event will include dancing, movement to music and much, much more and is being held in conjunction with Longford Sports Partnership.

An array of events will take place throughout the month, details of which can be obtained from local libraries. Heritage walks at Derrycasson Woods, Ballinamuck Bog and Newcastle Woods, Ballymahon are also in the pipeline for this week and Longford ICA is expected to hold a ‘Be Crafty’ event which will include demonstrations on sewing, knitting and embroidery at local libraries.

At Rathmhuire Resource Centre in Granard, a ‘Best Days of Your Life’ event will be held in conjunction with Longford Libraries.

This will include an intergenerational project with active age groups, where some will go back to school for the day and help create a memory box with local students.
