SEASONAL GREETINGS: To the editor and staff and to all readers of this column may I extend good wishes for a holy and happy Christmas.
HAPPY ENDING: A well-known Ballinagh business man had a disturbing experience on discovering that the family motor car valued in the region of 20 thousand euro had been stolen during daylight hours from where it had been parked near their business premises. The injured party raised the alarm contacting Ballinagh and Cavan town garda stations. Garda stations within the Cavan Monaghan division were alerted with road check points set up in three provinces. After an exhaustive search involving gardai and civilians, the missing vehicle was located parked along a busy thoroughfare unoccupied and fortunately undamaged. Great praise is due to all concerned in locating the car and our correspondent understands that gardai are following a definite line of enquiry in their investigations.
