TIDY TOWNS - A tidy towns meeting will take place in Moydow Community Centre on Wednesday 23rd March at 8pm. Towards the end of 2010 a clean up was done for one day for which there was a great response from everyone.
It is hoped to get the clean up going again, now that the days are getting longer, therefore all help and support will be called upon. Your attendance at the meeting will be greatly appreciated.

Training on the Defibrillator will be taking place shortly. It is hoped to have as many people as possible trained up in the use of the defibrillators. Community Games County Art Final: Well done to Emma Thompson, Roisin and Niamh Sheahan & Stephen McQuaide who all took part. U8 Girls Katie Lynch and U10 Boys Cian Hartmann won 1st place medals for their masterpieces and now progress to the National Finals in AIT May 28-29, 2011. U10 Handwriting: The brand new event was won by:Boys1-Dillon Ryan, 2-Eoin Fallon. Girls 1-Sarah Shea, 2-Sarah Kemple. Thank you to Miss Claire Flood, 2nd class teacher, and Ann Powell for taking on this new challenge. Details of the County Final will be announced soon and you will be contacted. Community Games County Talent Competition will take place this Sunday March 20th in Newtowncashel. Best of luck to Emily Doyle, Niamh Sheahan & Jordi O’Rourke, solo singing, and Patrick Hanley & Kate Beirne in solo music. Thanks to Riona Lynch who is preparing the group music and group singing. The annual Ardagh/Moydow/Glen Community Games Churchgate collection takes place this weekend, March 19- 20. Your generosity to this collection is very much appreciated as we depend on these funds to organise all the events for the children in the parish. We have been saving funds for the last 2 years in order to buy new jerseys and singlets for our young athletes to wear in Community Games competitions. 2011 is off to an excellent start as we have already won 8 Silver County medals in U13 Indoor soccer, 7 Gold for U12 mixed chess, 4 Gold in U13 Boys table tennis, and 2 Gold in Art. And there is alot more to come – County Talent competition, gaelic football, futsal and athletics.
A Farm Accounts and Taxation Course will be held in the Old Schoolhouse, Ballymahon Road, Edgeworthstown in the coming weeks. The Course is aimed at helping farmers prepare computerised farm records and an understanding of Basic Farm Taxation. The main objective of the course is to help farmers plan their business and tax more efficiently.
