Gortletteragh January 14

The senior citizen's Christmas party is on Sunday in the newly refurbished Community Centre. If you have not already given your name then you should do so now to any of the Autumn Club. Please come along at 2.30 to what promises to be a good evening. A hot meal will be served, so do not eat a dinner before leaving your home. We look forward to seeing everyone on the day.

The next meeting of the Autumn Club will take place on Thursday January 20th at 8pm.

The marriage took place on Thursday December 30th at the Church of the Nativity, Keadue of Clare Keighran, Drumbad and Ian Keating, Cloone. The celebrants at the wedding ceremony were Father Cathal Faughnan and Father Sam Holmes. The bride was attended by her sister, Aine and friend Emma O'Malley. Lauren was the junior bridesmaid. Groomsman was David Keating while Jimmy Gleeson was Bestman. The wonderful church music was by the McLoughlin family. A most enjoyable wedding reception was held for the guests in the Ramada Hotel, Drumshanbo. We congratulate the Clare and Ian wish them happiness and health in their married lives.

Finally thanking you all who bought tickets throughout last year, also the ticket sellers for their great work during the year and looking forward to your continued support in 2011. A happy and healthy new year to all concerned.

Tickets are now on sale for the 2011 monthly draw. There will be no 5 euro or 20 euro ticket this year, just one ticket costing 50 euro which amount to just 1 euro per week. There will be 400 euro in prizes each month, with the draw normally taking place at the end of each month. We are giving 2000 euro extra in prizes this year - with a once off draw of 1000 euro x 2 to coincide with the January draw. As this will be our main fundraiser for the year we are appealing to everyone in the parish to support it and enable us to continue to provide facilities for the youth of the parish.

The death occurred last week of Father James Masterson C.S.S.P, Kimmage Manor, Dublin and late of Moyne. Father James was a regular visit to this parish during the time that his brother, Father J.P. was a curate here back in the 1960s. We tender sympathy with his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
