With the Ploughing Championships just over a week away now, John and Helen Kiernan's farm at Carragh, Granard, will host excitement in abundance on Sunday week, March 27.

Inspired by Creative Ireland and Longford Live & Local, a professional Gig Rig with sound system and crew will grace the Ploughing for the first time ever.

Longford Ploughing is delighted to share this stage with local acts all afternoon, on Sunday March 27th.

The outdoor dance-floor is back again for everyone to enjoy.

A highly entertaining afternoon of outdoor music, with ‘4 Degrees West’ and members of the John Dungan branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann awaits.

This year’s Celebrity Ploughing contestant Country Music star Stuart Moyles will join in too, before Farmer Phil and his fellow YouTubers take Stuart away and test his mettle on the ploughing field.

Longford Ploughing PRO Luke Casey revealed, “A few ‘secret’ nerve testing challenges have been organised for Stuart and the YouTube lads.”

Luke added, “To book stand space please at the championships, contact our exhibition manager John Maye 087 784 4208 and book your spot.”

He concluded, “Thanks to our main sponsors Raymond & Linda Farrell at Robinstown Haulage we will have lots more Ploughing news coming in next week’s Ploughing Supplement in the Longford Leader.”
