The four recipients of 2021 John Feely Scholarships have been announced with one being awarded to Longford’s Cian McGahern of Aughnacliffe, Edgeworthstown.
The prestigious €1500 scholarships are awarded by the John Feely Foundation and are distributed to outstanding young farm students in each of the four ICMSA organisational regions.
Presenting the cheques in the Limerick Head Office of the state’s specialist dairy farmer organisation last Thursday, ICMSA President, Pat McCormack, said that the more he saw of the next generations of Irish farmers, the more confident he felt about the continuation of our levels of commitment and technical excellence.
He said that both the John Feely Foundation and ICMSA “want and welcome” the energy and innovation that young farmers will bring and he sincerely hoped that the four young students will make it their business to engage and contribute “down the line”.
