Gavin Clancy and Mark Leonard, from the Begley's, Killoe Christmas Soccer Tournament, presenting €885 to Michelle Reilly, St Christopher's Leisure Buddies Project Co-Ordinator.

Youth Buddies, part of the Leisure Buddy Volunteer programme, which is run through St Christopher’s Services, was presented with €885 recently.

The presentation to the members of The Youth Buddies group took place during their social outing in Eddie Valentine’s pub on Saturday, February 9 prior to the Scotland v Ireland Six Nations rugby match.

The funds were raised through the staging of a soccer event, organised by Mark Leonard and Gavin Clancy, which took place on Saturday, December 29 in Killoe astro turf pitch.

Niamh & Paddy Lee from Begley’s pub, Killoe sponsored the medals and trophies for the event.Daniel & Luke Flynn, Kildare county footballers, travelled down to Longford to make the presentation to the winning teams.

Organisers wished to thank car park stewards Joe Leonard, John (Doc) Doherty & Michael Kenny and also local musicians Rooster Brady, Neill Farrelly, Eamon Keogh and Connie Reilly, for their help during the event.
