Bridgeways Family Resource Centre, Ballymahon hosted a Beauty Event on Friday, November 2.

Grace Kearney, Project Co-ordinator, Bridgeways FRC, explained that the aim of the event was to provide a glamorous night locally where women could learn new tips and tricks from local professionals, in addition to raising vital funds for the centre. Ms Kearney added, “Supporting local businesses is pivotal to our work, and we are so lucky to have had their help for the Beauty Event.”

MC Valerie Masters kept the show on the road and did a sterling job of introducing the professionals and keeping to time.

Sharon Noonan (Saffron Rouge) gave a skin demonstration and highlighted the importance of looking after our skin. Sharon performed a ‘skin peel’ and the results were amazing.

Amy Forde (MU Amy) performed a full makeup demonstration using many different products and gave the crowd important tricks/ tips on how to apply makeup professionally. Sarah Butler (Brooklyn’s Nails & Beauty) performed a full tan application and explained how to avoid the many tan problems that some of us face.

Margo Kilkenny (Halo Hair Design) gave amazing advice on how to style our hair for different occasions and how to look after our hair.

Ms Kearney said, “The information was plentiful and on many occasions you could have heard a pin drop as the crowd soaked up every bit of advice from the professionals. In addition we also had the luxury of having local pop up shops selling their products on the night.”

She added, “The centre was transformed into an amazing magical wonderland, a huge thank you to our many volunteers, staff Emer Maguire, Board Member Andrea Maher, Jenny from Jenny’s Flowers & Gifts & Mary from Creations.”

On the night there was over €1,500 worth of prizes raffled off, Saffron Rouge kindly gave away 3 x €50 vouchers hidden in brochures and Halo Hair Design donated hair products, a Keratin Salon Treatment & Christmas Hair Makeover.
