Longford Community Games welcomes new sponsor Longford Credit Union

Mayo to host Connacht Community Games Finals

Community-based and focused Longford Credit Union has become Longford community Games Sponsor in an exciting new 3-year deal, which will see extra financial support to enable even more children to get the opportunities Community Games has to offer.

Longford Community Games is a voluntary organisation with predominately parents offering up their time to train and manage children from their own parishes and give them opportunities to compete for their local area in sport, arts, and games in County Finals up to Leinster level and at the national level.

The Longford Arms launch evening was attended by a selection our local councillors from all parties on behalf of Longford County Council. It was great to see the support and commitment given and hear their stories of how they competed through community games when they were younger.

Co. Longford Chairman and National Vice President Joe Fox commented ‘Longford is thriving in Community Games nationally and it is important we have a sponsor that is community-based with a joint community ethos which could lead this partnership far into the future.’

Longford Credit Union spokesman Declan ORourke ‘We are proud to be a strong partner, and is looking forward to working with community games into the future’.

Longford Community Games look forward to a very active year with over 214 sporting and cultural activities available for children aged between 6-16 years and a beneficial partnership for both organisations.
