ALERT | Longford motorists warned to expect delays due to road closures

Longford motorists are being warned to expect delays over the next few weeks due to road closures at various locations throughout the county. 

L-5048 Corglass townland between its junctions with L-1024 and L-5049  

The L-5048 Corglass townland between its junctions with L-1024 and L-5049 will be closed from Monday, March 23 to Friday, March 27 inclusive, between the hours of 8am  and 4pm.

This closure is required to facilitate drainage works.

Traffic Management will be in place for the duration of the works. In the interest of road safety, you are requested to heed all signs.

R-392-1629 Derryveagh, Kenagh, Co Longford

The R-392-1629 at Derryveagh, Kenagh, Co Longford will be closed between the hours of 8am and 5pm from Monday, March 23 until Friday, April 10. 

A temporary traffic management plan will be in place for the duration of the works. The road will be reduced to one lane, controlled by Temporary Traffic Lights or Stop/Go operators may be used during the works.

In the interest of public safety, all road users are requested to heed signage and follow instructions from traffic management personnel. Longford County Council apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding and cooperation during these necessary works.

The road will remain open but traffic delays should be expected. Pedestrian Management Will also be in Operation.

National Secondary Road N55 Cavan Road from Granard Town

The National Secondary Road N55 Cavan Road from Granard Town will be closed from Monday, March 30 to Friday, April 10 from 8am to 6pm. Road will be open each evening at 6pm. Road will not be closed on Saturdays or Sundays.

This closure is to facilitate the Pavement Improvement Works on the N55 at Cloghchurnel.

 There will be no through access on this road for safety reasons. Traffic Management will be in place for the duration of the works. In the interest of road safety, you are requested to heed all signs.

Temporary Road Closure - Granardkille (Granard)

The Granardkille (Granard) road between the L-5166 and R194 junctions parallel to Ardscoil Phadraig will be closed from Monday, March 30 – Friday, April 10 from 8am to 6pm each day to facilitate road maintenance works.

There will be no through access on this road for safety reasons. Traffic Management will be in place for the duration of the works. In the interest of road safety, you are requested to heed all signs.
