 Longford Ploughing Championships boasts a wealth of top class music and entertainment

Farmer Phil, whose real name is Philip Stewart, will be one of the celebrities in attendance

There will be lots of live music on site at the Longford Ploughing Championships starting with Creeva at 12-noon this Sunday.

They will be followed by David Orohoe and Darragh McCabe, and next on stage is the one and only Ruaile Buaile, an exciting bunch of five who leave a trail of sold out venues wherever they go.

Ruaile Buaile are looking forward to this spacious outdoor venue and they are a real treat for music lovers with a passion for lively trad.

A&C Country Jiving are back for the Ploughing Jiving competition.

The dance floor is being provided with compliments of Longford Ploughing, so make sure to get all your friends and family out to enjoy this celebration of the Spring Equinox.

Someone somewhere will be watching out for the Most Appropriate dressed Lady, sponsored by Chrisse McCormack, McCormack agricultural contractors. There is a Gent’s award also, so everyone is in with a chance.

There are also lots of celebrities attending the event this year and they might even chance a bit of ploughing.

Celebrities include Farmer Phil, Eoin Lynch, Eleanor and Finnian (Oakdale farm), Father Phil (Derek Stewart) and Grassmen.

Please note all tractor and vintage competitions are on Stubble Ground. Horse and Loy are on Grass Field.
