The Meán Scoil Mhuire, Longford Junior Soccer Team were thrilled to learn this week that they have secured the top place in their group and have qualified for the Regional Final against Edenderry.

The team secured wins against teams from Edenderry and Athlone in the qualification stages and are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the fixture details for the upcoming final where they will play the same Edenderry team that they defeated in the group stage.

The girls and their coach Mr Dennigan are wished the best of luck in their preparations for the final!

Basketball Success – Regional Final Beckons!

Congratulations to the Meán Scoil Mhuire First Year Basketball Team who produced a phenomenal performance on Tuesday, March 3 last, to conquer Heywood CS and book a place in the regional final.

The girls were immense and physically dominant from the start and approached the game with huge energy and enthusiasm.

In the end, this proved the difference in a keenly contested battle between the two sides.

We would once again like to thank our Second Year Team who were incredible supporters on the day and who created an electric atmosphere that encouraged and inspired the First-Year team at every opportunity.

We would also like to sincerely thank Herterich Butchers Longford for their generous sponsorship of our new team kit, which the team wore for the first time on the day. The team now awaits details of the upcoming Regional Final fixture. Thank you to their coaches and all involved in the team! Go n-éiri libh!
