Musical experience to savour in Longford as Simon Casey’s ‘Christmas Time’ concert raises over €10,000

Fr Vinny Connaughton has expressed  a huge thanks to all who supported the Simon Casey Christmas Concert on Sunday evening, December 14 in Ardagh.

Fr Vinny remarked, "What a beautiful performance from Simon and his team, and of course our very own local talent at the interval, thank you.

"Thanks to a wonderful committee who worked with me over the last few months to ensure it was a success, thanks to all who bought and sold tickets, the raffle prizes, and especially the venues who sold the tickets. I’m glad to say that we raised over €10,000 which was a great success. Thank you."

Fr Vinny continued, "May I wish a very happy Christmas to each and everyone of you and a very special welcome to all who have come home for Christmas with their families and friends. 

"I welcome home my nieces and my grandniece Evie to Ardagh and Santa will be busy coming to my house this year. 

"May I also thank you all for your prayers and generosity to me especially at my 40th anniversary, the time of my niece’s passing, and your great support throughout the year.

"Thanks to all our cluster parish committees and groups and all who were and are involved in our vibrant cluster parish area. I sincerely appreciate your generosity and kindness to me this Christmas. I will be offering my Holy Mass on Christmas Eve for all your intentions and especially those who are sick and in hospital this Christmas time. A blessed Christmas and a very happy/healthy New Year of 2026."
