Minister Calleary has allocated €14 million to projects under CLÁR this year – the highest allocation since the scheme was reintroduced in 2016.

Lus na Gréine Family Resource Centre, Granard were the biggest winners locally as they were allocated €76,493 towards roof slating and a mobile kitchen. Five GAA clubs were also successful in securing funding.

Senator Joe Flaherty paid tribute to the nine groups who worked with the team at Longford County Council to deliver €455,897 in CLÁR funding.

Senator Flaherty remarked, “The CLÁR programme continues to provide vital support and helps build strong resilient and vibrant communities through the enhancement of existing community facilities and the provision of new amenities."
