Brace yourself — on Thursday, 27 November at Edward J. Valentines, Longford Town - Teenage Wasteland is going live, and we’re joined by none other than Peter Coonan, the IFTA winning actor who burned himself into Irish TV history as Fran in Love/Hate and swaggered onto screens worldwide in Peaky Blinders.
Peter returns to Longford soil with a nod to his Newtownforbes roots through his mother’s side to rewind the tape on his teenage years — the music that rattled his bedroom walls, the films he obsessed over, the Dublin characters who left their mark, and all the other influences that led to one of the most iconic acting careers in the country. Expect big laughs, sharp memories, and the kind of stories Fran would probably tell you to keep quiet.
We’ll also explore the twists of his stage and screen journey, from indie beginnings to becoming one of Ireland’s most magnetic performers.
If you love nostalgia, great storytelling, Peaky swagger and Fran-level energy — don’t miss this Longford homecoming edition of Teenage Wasteland.
This event is part of the Longford Night Time Economy.
Teenage Wasteland is a podcast produced by Michael & Johnny Cronin, Cronin & Live Transmission Records and Will Russell, Hotpress Magazine which celebrates, let’s face it the best music in the world – the music of our teenage years…
On Teenage Wasteland, Cronin will chat about favourite records that our guests listened to when they were teenagers. They may not be the best albums ever recorded, they may not even be records they still listen to, but they still form them.
They will also look at other arts that have shaped the person from books, film, art and more.
