"People had brought the issue up with me, people who may not have had the app but they can go to a bus stop and look at the timetable and it would encourage people to use the bus because they are seeing a bus stop and they are thinking, 'Well, I must use the bus'.
"I think it reminds people, when they see bus stop signs, it reminds them that there's a good service."
Cllr Mimnagh said the "installation of bus hard stand signage and retention sockets at all TFI bus stops would greatly improve safety, accessibility, and consistency" across the county.
"Hard stands provide a stable, level surface for passengers, reducing the risk of slips and falls and improving access for wheelchair users and those with prams.”
Cllr Mimnagh said the measure “would enhance the visibility and reliability of local bus services, encourage greater public transport use.
Longford County Council stated they are working in conjunction with the NTA to carry out improvement works to bus stops in county Longford.
