Three defendants appeared before special sitting of Longford District Court
Gardaí have charged three suspects in connection with an alleged brawl and assault in Longford town on Saturday, October 18.
One man, who is from a local family, was brought to Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar by ambulance where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The alleged brawl occurred at around 9.30pm on Ballymahon Street and officers believe up to 10 men were involved in some capacity.
John Paul Stokes of 40 Palace Crescent, Sean Stokes of 29 Ardnacassa Avenue, Longford and Patrick Stokes of 6 Cartron Brack, Lisbrack Road, Longford were brought before Judge Adrian Harris at a sitting of local district court last Friday.

Garda Peter Vesey gave evidence that on Friday, October 24 he arrested the trio and they were all charged between 4.05pm and 4.50pm with two offences namely assault causing harm (section 3) and violent disorder.
None of the accused men made any reply after being cautioned.
Conditions of bail set out were agreed.
The three defendants all applied for bail through their solicitor Andrew Broderick and this was granted subject to several strict conditions, which the legal representative said he had no issue with.
The conditions included to reside at their stipulated address, to notify Gardaí of any change of address, to observe a curfew between the hours of 10pm until 7am and proof of compliance, no contact directly or indirectly with any witnesses and to refrain from use of social media.

The trio were also directed to provide a mobile phone number and to be contactable at all times and to report any changes to that number.
Inspector Jordan requested an adjournment until November 25 “to this court for DPP’s directions, possible counter allegations and to review the curfew on that date.”
Judge Harris agreed and he remanded the trio on bail on their own bond of €500.
