Longford County Council has appointed John Brannigan as its new Deputy Chief Executive. Chief Executive Paddy Mahon announced the appointment at a recent council meeting.
John joined Longford County Council in October 2015 as Director of Services, having previously spent 22 years with Cavan County Council.

During his time in Longford, he has served as Director of Economic Development and previously held responsibility for Social Development including Housing, Planning, Roads, Water, Environment, Emergency Services. He currently has responsibility for Regeneration and Economic development and the Longford Municipal District.

The recent appointment recognises Mr Brannigan's extensive record in delivering infrastructure projects, managing resources, and engaging with communities across the midland’s region.
