Senior Executive Engineer Brian McNeela said 2.2km of the project had now been completed and it was ‘on track’
The critical upgrade works to replace over 5.4km of aged water mains with new pipes along the N55 in the Ballymahon area is progressing well, councillors have been informed.
Senior Executive Engineer Brian McNeela was asked for an update last week by Cathaoirleach Cllr Martin Skelly of Ballymahon Municipal District.
Mr McNeela said 2.2km of the project had now been completed and it was ‘on track’ and everything was going to plan.
He said they were trying to keep disruption on motorists and local residents to a minimum.
The N55 road was closed on August 25 last and diversions will remain in place until the project is due to be completed on Friday, November 28.
Uisce Éireann appointed contractor Ward and Burke Construction Ltd in June to carry out the multi-million euro water main upgrade and the project commenced on August 11.
