Longford man ‘wasn’t the main perpetrator’ when theft of 13 bottles of alcohol occurred

A 23 year-old man who “wasn’t the main perpetrator but he was there” when the theft occurred of 13 bottles of alcohol, has been ordered to pay €250 to the poor box.

Rene Cica of 8 Cornmill House, Great Water Street, Longford, appeared at a recent sitting of Longford District Court alongside an interpreter, charged with the theft of alcohol to the value of €507 from Tesco in Longford’s Shopping Centre on October 3 last year. 

In addressing Judge Berndaette Owens, solicitor Michelle Reynolds explained that her client was “not the main perpetrator, but he was there” and confirmed that he would pay the balance of the fine imposed by the court.
