The case was heard at Longford District Court
A Longford town man who admitted to carrying out two public order breaches, has been directed to make a payment to make a charitable contribution.
Ronan Creighton (33) of 8 Sycamore Close, Clonbalt Woods, pleaded guilty to two public order breaches on July 1, 2025.
Sergeant Enda Daly, court presenter, said when Gardaí arrived they observed two men, a father and a son, engaged in a physical altercation.

“Both men had to be separated and they remained abusive towards each other.
“They were highly intoxicated at the time and Gardaí attempted to find a peaceful resolution due to the males being father and son.
"Both males unfortunately resisted due to the level of intoxication and both men were arrested."
Mr Creighton had no previous convictions.
Solicitor Michelle Reynolds said Mr Creighton accepts what Gardaí said happened on the night and he still lives with his dad.

She stated her client had been and still is taking medication which 'does not mix well ' with alcohol and that had been a problem on the night.
"He accepts this and he has apologised to his father and he apologises to the Gardaí for this and he has stated that he is a lot happier now."
Ms Reynolds said her client is currently unemployed, but he attended a training course recently in Dublin and he has a job lined up 'once he passes his driving test and gets his learner licence'.
She stated Mr Creighton does contribute to the bills at home and he had come to court with €300 for the court poor box if the judge was willing to consider that.
Judge Bernadette Owens (pictured) directed the defendant to make a €300 payment to Longford Women's Link and indicated if this was done she would strike out both charges.
"Mr Creighton has to realise he has used up all of his opportunity," she added.
