A man, in his 30s, was arrested and charged in connection with the public order incident
Gardaí arrested and charged a man following a public order incident at a Ballymahon housing estate over the weekend and they are separately investigating a nearby criminal damage incident which occurred several hour later.
The first incident occurred at 10pm when Gardaí received a report of a public order incident and a disturbance at St Matthew's Park.
Officers subsequently arrested a man, in his 30s, in connection with the incident a short time later and he appeared in court on Sunday afternoon.

Separately, just over three hours after the public order incident Gardaí received a complaint in relation to a criminal damage incident, which is presently being investigated.
A Garda spokesman said, "Gardaí arrested and charged a man, aged in his 30s, following a Public Order incident at St Matthew’s Park, Ballymahon, Longford, at approximately 10pm on July 19th, 2025.
"The man appeared before Longford District Court on Sunday afternoon, 20th July 2025.

"As this matter is now before the courts, An Garda Síochána is not in a position to comment further at this time.
"Separately, Gardaí received a report of criminal damage at a housing estate in Ballymahon, Co Longford, which occurred between 12:15am and 1:30am on the July 19th 2025.
"Investigation ongoing."
