Urgent review of ‘water power and capacity’ needs to be carried out in Ballymahon

Fine Gael Councillor Martin Skelly has called on Uisce Éireann to conduct an immediate review on the water power and capacity on the approach roads to Ballymahon that feed the industrial units just outside the town.

"A number of business owners approached me and they spoke to me and I then decided to submit the motion," he added.

Cllr Skelly said it is important for businesses to have certainty and security that in the event of an emergency there are sufficient resources available to deal with it.

The motion was seconded by Cllr Paul Ross who supported it.

It was agreed to send a letter to Uisce Éireann requesting them to carry out a review and to provide those details.
