AN injury suffered by a man this year was allegedly the result of an assault, Tullamore District Court heard.

Felix Daly (56), Chapel Street, Mountmellick, has been charged with assaulting Patrick Kelly, causing him harm, at the Brewery Tap, High Street, Tullamore on March 23 last.

Mr Daly also faces charges alleging a breach of the peace and public drunkenness.

Sergeant Brendan Kearns said the evidence would be that the alleged victim sustained a large gash over his right eyebrow.

Judge Andrew Cody adjourned the matter to July 16 next.
