Michael O'Brien, Fundraising Officer for Midlands Simon Community
Midlands Simon Community is calling on individuals, businesses, and communities across the Midlands to support its vital work in helping those experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
As demand for the services of Simon continues to rise, they are appealing for donations, volunteers, and community-led fundraising events to help them respond to the growing need.
Michael O’Brien, recently appointed as Fundraising Officer for Midlands Simon Community, emphasised the importance of local support:
“We’ve seen incredible generosity from the people of the Midlands over the years, and now more than ever, we need that support. Whether it’s donating, giving a few hours of your time, or organising a local fundraiser, every effort makes a real difference.”

To kick off a busy year of community engagement, Midlands Simon are hosting a Golf Classic in Mount Temple Golf Club on Friday, June 20.
The event will take the form of a 3-ball scramble, with an entry fee of €150 per team.
Mr O'Brien outlined, “We’re inviting businesses, sports clubs, and groups of friends to take part or sponsor a tee box.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to support a worthy cause while enjoying a great day out in beautiful surroundings.”
In addition to the Golf Classic, Midlands Simon Community is currently in the process of putting together a calendar of events and initiatives for the year ahead, aimed at raising awareness and vital funds to support their front-line services.
Mr O'Brien remarked, “We’re also encouraging individuals, schools, clubs, and workplaces to consider hosting their own fundraising events , from coffee mornings to sponsored walks, quizzes, music nights and more. We’re here to support you every step of the way.
