Longford Pride is back, and this year it is bigger, brighter and better than ever.

After lighting up the town with Longford’s first ever Pride Parade in 2024, this year Longford Pride is going big, expanding to a week long festival from Monday, June 2 - Sunday, June 8, with a huge variety of events and activities for everyone to see or do. Whether you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community yourself, or just an ally looking to have fun, everybody’s welcome to take part and celebrate the community.

Festivities will be warming up with a free Art Exhibition, from 7pm in the Library on June 2 – the perfect treat for the Bank Holiday evening.

But things really kick off on Tuesday, June 3 , with the official festival launch at 5.30pm in the Longford County Council Offices, and a poetry reading by the winner of the “Inner Pride” poetry competition with queer poet, Hayley Fox-Roberts.

On Thursday, the good folks at TENI will be hosting a free seminar on the amazing work of the Transgender Equality Network of Ireland, the family supports they provide, and more at the Attic House from 4-5pm.

On Friday it’s time to take part and make yourself proud, with a free Screenprinting Workshop hosted by local artist Sophie Carroll Hunt, with T Shirts and Tote Bags available to print and take home.

But Saturday, June 7 is when the party takes off, with a jam-packed all day schedule. The Pride Craft Market returns to Pig Market Lane from 11am to 3pm, wrapping up in plenty of time for the all-important Parade we’ve all been looking forward to all year! Starting at 4pm at the Barracks, the Parade will carry colour, music and snappy moves right through the town before returning to Pig Market Lane for post parade celebrations and entertainment.

Things kick up a notch at night, with the biggest party of the year. The official Longford Pride Party 2025 will be hosted by P.Vs Red Room, featuring a fantastic drag show by Haus of Kwen, raffle and DJ from 8.30pm until late. Early Bird & Concession tickets are only €10, available now from Eventbrite, or €15 on the door on the night. It’s the party the whole Midlands will be talking about for another year, so don’t miss it.

After all that celebrating, you might need to take it easier on Sunday 8, and who could blame you? Have no fear – you can walk or run the 5km Colour Fun Run at The Mall from 2pm at your own pace.

White t-shirts will be available to buy or you can bring your own, to really show your true colours.

Finally, to close the festival in style, you can sit back and relax with a drink and a free movie Double Bill. Longford Pride 2025 will be closing with a free screening of San Junipero followed by The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert at Valentines, from 8pm, to send off the week in perfect feel-good Summer style.
