Longford District Court hears defendant was highly agitated and behaved in an aggressive and threatening manner
A man who threatened Gardaí has been placed on a peace bond.
Youcef Mohamoud of Richmond Court, Richmond Street, Longford pleaded guilty at the local district court to two public order breaches on April 24, 2025.
Sgt Mark Mahon, said Gardaí received a report that a man was causing a disturbance in the Richmond Street area and they went to the scene.

The court heard Mr Mohamoud appeared to be intoxicated, was “highly agitated and behaved in an aggressive and threatening manner towards other residents” on the property and officers managed to get him out of the complex.
Sgt Mahon said when he exited “he continued to behave in an aggressive manner towards Gardaí and he made numerous threats.
Sgt Mahon stated the accused addressed officers and said 'F**k you' and 'I will get you' before he was arrested.

The defendant had no previous convictions.
Solicitor Bríd Mimnagh, said her client had been in Garda custody since the incident.
She outlined he was 'in a bad way' at the time and he has received some treatment and is very sorry and now doing really well.

Judge Bernadette Owens decided to place the defendant on a peace bond of €200 for six months.
