Late Brendan Dunne, Gardanne, France / formerly of Ballyleague, Lanesboro, Co Roscommon

On Saturday, March 15, in Gardanne, France, a member of the very popular Dunne family, Ballyleague passed away following an illness borne with tremendous spirit.

Brendan Dunne lived with his wife Marion and family in France for a number of years.

Brendan’s legacy here in the community will always be remembered by his great spirit, his big warm and genuine and warm smile even at the darkest of times and he was recognised as a young man of great intelligence.

He was renowned as a talented sportsman irrespective of the code he was playing. He will be remembered as a lively, friendly and most obliging young man whose natural gift of kind-heartedness will be long remembered by everyone that encountered and benefitted from Brendan. He was predeceased by his father Denis just 18 months ago.

Brendan’s funeral took place in France and a commemoration service will take place at a later date in Ireland.

We extend our deepest sympathy to Brendan’s wife Marion (McDevitt), his daughter Emma and his son Mathieu, his mother Noreen, his sisters Siobhán, Gráinne, Niamh and Fiona, his brother Gary, his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and a wide circle of friends and neighbours.
