Longford Bank
Planning approval is being sought to bring a well-known Longford town building back into public use.
The premises, a protect structure, was formerly home to Ulster Bank on Main Street, however, it vacated in April, 2023 when the company decided to exit the Irish market.
The historic building, which has a distinctive limestone front was constructed in 1863.

The Longford branch was a purpose built bank operated premises for over 150 years and it was one of the first buildings constructed in the what is now the Republic of Ireland.
The Ulster Bank exited the Longford building's ATM was filled in with stone and lettering and signage was removed.
A planning appeal against those works previously sought to retain the signage and lettering.
The new planning application lodged by Cunningham Design & Planning has called for a flat roofed extension at the rear of the premises to be demolished and a fully serviced single storey building to be constructed as a replacement.
This applicants have stated the construction would be used for commercial, retail or cafe purposes and they have also applied to change the use of the building to a commercial, retail or cafe premises.
