Longford Gardaí appeal for witnesses following suspected criminal damage incident

A car was reported to be on fire on Lisbrack Road in Longford town at 1.30am

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who witnessed a suspected criminal damage incident over the weekend to contact the local Garda station.


Longford Gardaí requested the public's assistance and for witnesses to come forward after a car was destroyed in the early hours of Sunday morning.


A car was reported to be on fire on Lisbrack Road in Longford town at 1.30am and emergency services were called to the scene.

The blaze was quickly brought under control, the vehicle was quickly extinguished and Gardaí said there were no injuries.


Officers removed the vehicle for a technical examination and they are now investigating the blaze as suspected criminal damage.

Gardaí have asked anyone who witnessed anything suspicious to contact the local Garda station.
