Longford Gardai are continuing their investigations into drug dealing in Longford following a sizeable seizure of drugs yesterday.
The local law enforcement service took to Facebook to outline details of the raid that netted almost €30k worth of narcotics.
On the Longford Garda Facebook page they said: “We searched five properties in Longford on Tuesday, 1st April, and seized cocaine with an estimated street value of around €27,500 and cannabis with a value of around €1,000 was seized, along with €4,000 in cash.
“At one of the addresses, a male aged in his 20s was arrested and detained at a Garda Station in the Mayo / Roscommon / Longford Division under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
“He was subsequently charged to appear before Longford District Court later this month.
“The operation involved the Mayo / Roscommon / Longford Drugs Unit, Sligo / Leitrim Drugs Unit and Longford Gardaí.
Gardaí confirmed that the drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis. The investigation is ongoing.
