A disqualified motorist who was caught driving has been directed to complete 180 hours of community service and has received a four year driving ban.
Andrei Pascal (31) of 2 The Dolmen, Dunbeggan, Longford pleaded guilty at the local district court to the offence on December 16, 2024.
At a previous hearing, Garda Yvonne Glacken said she was on duty in Aughacordrinan, Aughnacliffe when she stopped the defendant at 6.40pm and she requested his driving licence, which he did not have in his possession.

Mr Pascal, a father of four, stated he was not the owner of the car and it was registered in his brother's name.
Gardaí made a lawful demand to the defendant to produce his driving licence and his insurance certificate within 10 days, but he failed to do so and further enquiries confirmed he was disqualified.
The car was seized and the defendant, who had been cooperative, was arrested.
