A feast of entertainment is guaranteed at the first ploughing match in the Ballymahon area in over a decade along the banks of the Royal Canal next Sunday.
Kindly hosted by the Delaney family, the Longford Ploughing Championships on March 23 at Drinan, promises to be a fun-filled day.
She may not realise it herself, but Lucky Day Competitions host and digital content creator ‘Sammy’ is going to try her hand at ploughing.
Longford Ploughing Association wish to assure attendees on Sunday that Sammy will be in action just after 2pm. While Conor from GRASSMEN and the Tyre Warrior are in for a surprise here too!
No doubt, this trio will add a new twist to ploughing. Ploughing tutors Michael Delaney and Charlie Burns will have the onerous task of trying to get all three to keep it straight. No twisting..eh, no twisting out.
No, no, no distractions and no going home for Sammy, Conor or Tyre Warrior until their ploughing is done.
Everybody should have their phone battery fully charged to make sure they capture the celebrity ploughing!
You can all catch up with Sammy, Conor & Tyre Warrior when their ploughing is done!
Music & Entertainment
From 12noon there will be music and entertainment galore in Drinan. For decades Longford Ploughing Association have brought music, entertainment and celebrity guests to fields across the county and PRO Luke Casey says people can enjoy that magical atmosphere again.
“Local acts will grace the stage throughout the afternoon, including the brilliant ‘4Degrees West’ and traditional musicians. The dance floor will also be in place and the jiving competition is sure to be keenly contested.”
