Twelve Longford restaurants see a very successful Irish Restaurant Awards

David and Martina Burns, Richmount Cordial Company were the winners of the Longford Local Food Hero – sponsored by Sugar Snap - at the Leinster Regional Final of the Irish Restaurant Awards

The best restaurants and hospitality business owners in Longford were honoured at the Leinster Regional Final of the Irish Restaurant Awards in the Killashee Hotel, Kildare.

All of the Longford winners now compete for the Regional and All Ireland titles, which will be announced at the Irish Restaurant Awards All-Ireland Final on Monday, May 19 at the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road, Dublin.

There was success for twelve Longford businesses across eighteen categories and there were over 1000 attendees at the presentation ceremony on Tuesday, March 11.

Speaking at the ceremony, Seán Collender, President of the Restaurants Association of Ireland, said, “The awards are about recognising the outstanding efforts of those who bring Ireland’s culinary reputation to life every day. In a challenging business environment, it is more important than ever to honour the people whose hard work, passion and creativity shape our hospitality sector.

“The Leinster Regional Final once again showcased the incredible talent and innovation that define this region’s culinary landscape. I want to extend my congratulations to all the winners and nominees. It is their hard work that makes Ireland’s food scene truly exceptional.”
