Longford Gardaí arrest man (30s) following alleged serious assault of elderly woman
Gardaí investigating the alleged serious assault of an elderly woman in her home in Edgeworthstown have arrested a man.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed, "Gardaí investigating a serious assault that is reported to have occurred on Tuesday, February 25 in Edgeworthstown, Co Longford, arrested a man this morning, Wednesday, March, 12.

"The man, aged in his 30s, is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda Station in the Mayo/Roscommon/Longford Division."
