Gardaí investigating the discharge of a firearm in Killargue, Co Leitrim, have arrested a man.
 
On the afternoon of Friday, March 7, Leitrim Gardaí responded to an emergency call at a residential location in Killargue, Co Leitrim.

The Armed Support Unit also attended the scene.
 
Shortly after 3.20pm, following an intervention by the Armed Support Unit, including the deployment of a Taser, a man was arrested outside the residence, and a firearm was seized.

The scene is currently preserved for technical examination.

The firearm seized is now subject to forensic and ballistic examination.

The man (aged in his 30’s), is currently detained pursuant to Section 30 Offences Against the State Act, 1939/98 at a Garda station in the Co Leitrim area.
 
Investigations are ongoing.
