ALERT: A number of road closures in Longford on Sunday to facilitate staging of Midland Motor Club rally

ALERT: A number of road closures in Longford on Sunday to facilitate staging of Midland Motor Club rally

To facilitate the Midland Motor Club Multi Stage Rally on Sunday, March 2 a number of roads will be closed between 8am and 8pm across Longford.  

Stages 1, 4 & 7
To facilitate Stages 1, 4 & 7 the following roads will be closed - 
Bundoon, Drumure, Gorteenorna, Garrowhill, Carrowbeg, Bohernameeltoge, Ballinacurry and Oghill.

The recommended diversion route is divert via Cahnagh R198, Kilnashee, Bawn, Cloonmacart, Cartrongolan, Ennybegs, Esker Cross, Kilnatruan Cross Roads and Knockloughlin. 

Stages 2, 5 & 8 

To facilitate Stages 2, 5 & 8 the following roads will be closed - Currycahill, Gorteen, Garvagh, Glenoghil, Killoe Glebe, Farraghroe, Kilmoyle, Ballygarve and Corboy. 

The recommended diversion route is divert at Rhine, Currycahill, Currygrane, Lissameen, Glannagh, Corby, Lissardowlan, Whiterock, Mucknagh, Killoe, Ailenagh and Killyfad.

Stages 3, 6 & 9 

To facilitate Stages 3, 6 & 9 the following roads will be closed - Laughil, Rabbitpark, Grillagh, Drumlogher, Derrymore, Nappagh, Aghalust, Bawn, Bawn Mountain, Barroe, Castlerea Mountain, Mollyroe, Castlerea, Cloghan, Keeloge, Commock, Curraghmore, Abbeyderg, Cornahoo and Cartron.

The recommended diversion route is divert at Creagh, Cartronbreack, Curracreehan, Knockagowney, Curry, Aughantemple, Moydow, Keel, Drumming Cross, Ardagh, Colloeshill, Richfort, Cordivin and Lisduff. 

All diversions will be signposted and motorists are asked to heed all signs and marshals.
