Both women were arraigned before Judge Kenneth Connolly at Longford Circuit Court and entered pleas of guilty to the offences

Two women who were involved in an altercation in a Longford town centre retail outlet in 2022 pleaded guilty to the offence at Longford Circuit Court.


Sisters Cindy Duignan (39) of 31 Ardnacassa Avenue, Longford and Teresa Dinnegan (37) of 5 Springlawn, Longford were charged with Section 15 affray at Penneys, Longford Shopping Centre on March 16, 2022.

Before Judge Kenneth Connolly both women were arraigned and entered pleas of guilty to the offences.


They were remanded on continuing bail to return before the Circuit Court.

The defendant's legal representatives made an application to the Judge Connolly for legal aid to cover medical reports for both women, with a particular focus on mental health issues.


The judge granted the application to extend the legal aid to cover the medical reports.
